You changed your eating habits, drink eight glasses of water a day, and exercise daily to in increase your blood circulation. But, you still have that orange-peel look on the back of your legs and stomach, and want to get rid of it before you hit the beach. Endermologie can help. Spa Gregorie’s Endermologist, Maudine Moody, answers our questions on Endermologie and how it can help us get ready for that itsy bitsy yellow bikini.
What is Endermologie?
Endermologie is a massage like treatment that get’s your circulatioin (blood flow & lymphatic) moving about 300%, to help reduce the appearance of cellulite, and many other issues such as range of motion, arthritis, fibromyalgia, pre & post cosmetic surgery, etc.
How does this treatment work?
Endermologie is all about stimulating the circulation which helps to receive the benefits of whatever issue we are dealing with. Again, a massage like treatment, but we are working in the dermis layers of the skin as massage is working the muscle area. We also work the whole body to get the circulation moving unlike other treatments, which may only treat one spot.
Does it hurt? Is it harmful to my body?
No, the treatment does not hurt, although everyone is different so if it does seem to be uncomfortable, we can adjust the level. It is not harmful to the body. In fact, by getting the lymphatic moving, it is beneficial to the body. However, it is not recommended for clients with high blood pressure.
How many treatments would I need to receive to see results?
As to how many treatments to see results, everybody is different and if the client is doing their part, I would say from 6 to 10 treatments would be a safe call. Sometimes clients may see results around 4 to 6 treatments if they are luck! The clients need to watch their diet and exercise as any routine to staying healthy, but also during the series need to drink plenty of water and dry brushing is also helpful.
What are the benefits?
Benefits will vary for everyone, although the most we all like to see is the reducing the appearance of cellulite, tightening and toning the skin, and sculpting and smoothing the silhouette.
Who is this treatment recommended for?
This treatment can benefit most people, although it is a treatment that you have to keep doing to keep up the results (after a series, maintenance is 1 time per month). Results do improve the skin quality, but will not make you look like you did as a teen. Most women will notice the difference when they stop having treatments and loose the good circulation flow and the skin goes back to the way it was before. Remind you, it does not make the skin look worse; it just goes back to the way it looked before. But, if they start back up with treatments, the appearance of the skin will improve again.
